FULL BIO-
Philadelphia-Native Suzann Christine is the newest Recording Artist/ Songwriter creating a huge buzz on the music scene. Her motto of “Sophistication & Class” is represented in her lyrics, style and philanthropy. Suzann comes from humble beginnings. At age 5, her mother acknowledged her singing talents and placed her on the Heavenly Chimes Children’s Choir at the Second Macedonia Baptist Church. By the age of 10, she’d stolen the spotlight performing a number of solos. As an adolescent, Suzann enrolled with the Young Performers Theatre Camp, which was geared towards educating youth in the arts; here, she excelled in theater and various music forms. While attending Philadelphia High School for Girls, Suzann was selected to sing with the All City State Choir for High School students. With these groups, she had an opportunity to perform at the Temple Liacouras and Kimbell Center. During this time she found her passion for song writing and began developing her lyrical skills.
After graduating from high school, Suzann enrolled at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. Her sophomore year marked the beginning of her professional recording career with the release of the NC A&T Fellowship Gospel Choir. Their hit song “Rejoice” featured a solo performance by Suzann; in return she received much recognition. Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts, Suzann then moved back to Philadelphia to pursue her musical endeavors.
Since returning to Philadelphia she has opened for Kindred the Family Soul, was selected as one of the Top 10 candidates for Andre Harrell’s Superstar Soul Search, and made the “Phillies Playoff Anthem”, which was in heavy rotation on Philadelphia’s hit radio station- Wired 96.5. She has since worked with top producers including Joe Logic of Milkboy Studios and McKinley Horton, who worked with the Legendary Teddy Pendergrass.
Though Suzann is heavily consumed by music, she always devotes time to her Philanthropy interests. She felt the need to give back to her community through something dear to her heart. Suzann founded and incorporated SCH Creative & Performing Arts, Inc., a nonprofit organization geared towards educating adolescents on maximizing their artistry. Forming this organization was one way to keep children involved in something positive and allowed them to build confidence and self-esteem. In addition to her own organization, Suzann is also greatly involved with TeenShop- a group dedicated to mentoring young minority girls. Suzann’s greatest aspiration is to reach out and empower as many children in the Philadelphia area as possible, who have an interest in something creative and that they reach their full potential.
